Welcome to St Matthew's C of E Primary School!

Dear Parents and Carers

I am proud to be the Headteacher of this popular and successful school, working with a dedicated staff team and eager, vibrant children. We work in close partnership with parents, school governors and the local community, as well as having strong links with Christ Church, our local parish church.

Our Vision

Knowledge begins with respect for God. (Proverbs 1:7)

Therefore, we aim to provide a positive learning experience in a safe and respectful environment. We strive to teach an inspiring and inclusive curriculum that promotes a love of learning.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:16-18)

As a Christian school, we endeavour to develop the spiritual and moral values of all members of the St. Matthew’s family, and a meaningful, loving relationship with God.

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

We want our children to be cheerful and independent individuals who reach their potential and are proud of their achievements.

Let your roots grow down into Christ Jesus, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. (Colossians 2: 6-7)

We hope to develop confident, caring citizens who are well prepared to enjoy happy and rewarding lives.

Our school motto: Live, Love, Learn

Our website is designed to be as user-friendly as possible,  giving easy-to-access information for parents, governors, staff and children. We hope you like it! If you would like a paper copy of any information on this website, please contact the school office.

Best wishes
