Welcome to Kestrels!
Welcome to Kestrels!
Please find below a list of websites that you can use to access various learning including Literacy (spelling and reading), Mathematics and Science-based activities at home.
Children have been sent home with a 'learning pack'. Please encourage them to work through some of the activities each day whilst they are off school.
Below are other useful websites and log in details:
The websites are:
Mathletics - https://login.mathletics.com/
Mathletics is an online platform that school already uses and that most of you will be familiar with. It covers all areas of the mathematics curriculum. Teachers can set different tasks and view children’s progress. Your child has their very own login details for this.
Times Table Rockstars - www.ttrockstars.com
Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Your child has their very own login details for this.
Purple Mash - https://www.purplemash.com/login/
Purple Mash is a fantastic tool that has lots of different activities on for your children to explore. It is used in school to help children with their learning across many areas of the curriculum. To login to the website you will first need to find the school’s login page by clicking on ‘Find my school’s login page’. Then you will need your child’s login details which were sent home at the start of the Autumn term.
Scholastic Learn at Home - https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome/grades-prek-k.html (Alternatively you can use google to search for ‘Scholastic Learn at Home’)
This is a website that has been set up specifically for school closures. It has stories and activities based around various different topics that link to your children’s learning. More activities are being added to the site every day.
Sumdog - https://www.sumdog.com/
Sumdog is similar to Mathletics as teachers can set work and view the children’s progress. It has different tasks relating to reading, spelling and mathematics. When your child logs in they will have some ‘quick fire questions’ and they may need some adult support with these. After this they will be able to access the tasks and these are all in game form so the children will really enjoy playing them as well as practising the different skills. Each child has an individual login and this will be given to your child to take home. As with the rest of these websites we do recommend that you play the games alongside your children as they may need some initial help to follow the instructions.
Topmarks Education- www.topmarks.co.uk
An excellent website with activities to support all areas of the National Curriculum.
Step 1: visit www.twinkl.co.uk/offer

Oxford Reading Tree - www.oxfordowl.co.uk
A great website from the makers of Biff and Chip books. This gives access to a huge range of ORT books which the children can read. A very useful site. Children were given login details on the class newsletter.
Audible Audio Books - stories.audible.com
Audible is an audio book platform provided by Amazon. For the duration of School closures they are providing free audio book access. This is a great alternative to watching TV or youtube.
PE with Joe Wick- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
The 'Body Coach' Joe Wick is uploading a workout every morning, which is great for you and your children to complete. This will provide you with some extra activity. Make sure you have enough space and some water handy... It's tough!
